Born in Philadelphia, Ellen relocated to Hernando, Florida from Dublin, Ohio in 2003. In 2001, she retired as the Marketing and Sales Director for a software consulting firm. Jewelry design & creation soon became her primary passion. Ellen's jewelry making techniques are generally self taught. She has taken classes in the US & in Australia. Each piece of jewelry that she creates is one of a kind. No design is ever duplicated. Her body of work has been described as so unique that it looks as if it were created by many designers. Ellen makes some of her beads using clay and fused glass, but most are purchased from wholesalers. "My husband Mike and I love to travel". We buy colorful semi-precious stones, shells or beads everywhere we go. This contributes to my work's unique qualities. Most recently, I purchased hand-carved shell and stone pendants on trips to Chile, Eastern Island, South Africa and Peru, and boulder opals and murano art glass while visiting Australia, Italy and Croatia. To my knowledge, my Beaded Baubles are worn in 6 countries, and on 4 contiinents. Ellen is available for home parties in the Central and South Florida areas. Custom orders are accepted when product is available. |
